Some keys on my laptop keyboard fell off (the keys are lost now but the keyboard still works) so I need to replace the keys/keyboard. The laptop isn't under warranty. I have checked on Yelp and found a few places that could replace my keyboard but I thought I'd ask this community as well. Any suggestions as to where I should take my laptop to? I'm located in Oakland but could go to Berkeley or SF too. Thanks!

Just Google "laptop keys." There are a ton of places you can order replacements from. They are easy to stick on. Much cheaper than taking it somewhere and having them charge you for a full new keyboard and labor.

Seconded. Popping keys back on is very simple - just push. You may have to do one edge or the other first, but it's really easy. Unless, of course, the parts that broke were the clips actually on the laptop, not the bits on the keys.

If your keys fell off, or popped off without breaking anything, then it's just a matter of a few bucks and 30 seconds to pop back on replacements. If the keyboard itself broke, then you're looking at quite a bit more, depending on what kind of laptop it is.

I saw one place that sold replacement clips and had a video on how to install those, too.
